One of my favorite places to fish. I have probably posted about this place more then any other. It never gets old!
Last month I went on a week long back pack trip that involved mountaineering and fishing in some glacial lakes and streams. I ended up with several types cut throats and a lot of brook trout! It was a great time and I can't wait to go back again and fish more!
One of those moments when you are fishing with a smaller rod set up and you hook that fish that you wanted to the day before on a larger rod. This fish was caught on my 6' 2" glass 2 wt.
This last weekend I was finally able to make it back up to a favorite spot north of where I live. The weather was finally cooperating and it made for a really good weekend! The brook trout were good just like last year and another place had some great rainbows in it as well. All in all a great weekend!!
Next week I will be in Colorado backpacking in the Rockies and looking for trout there and am really looking forward to it! It is out in that area that I caught my first trout with a trude variation fly on some 4x tippet that was tied to a stick. Can't wait to get back there!
There is nothing better then starting your week by following that mysterious two track down until the water looks to good that you have to fish it. There was nothing big happening this time but the small ones that did hit were amazing! (Especially after this winter...)
